In the mid-19th century Henry Bertrand was a simple weaver in Lyon, France. He founded one of the most successful weaving companies specializing in silk fabrics. By the early 20th century, he already owned four factories around Lyon and sales offices throughout Europe and America Today Henry Bertrand specializes in supplying of high quality silks at all levels. Henry Bertrand silk is durable and tightly woven, high-twisted threads are used in taffeta, velvet is perfectly draped, the finest chiffon and organza are almost weightless, and jacquards are noble. The factory's creations can be seen in museums around the world, including The Museum of Art in Cleveland. Henry Bertrand fabrics participated in such large-scale projects as filming of "Star Wars", "Lord of the rings", "Harry Potter", they decorated the White house in the United States and the British Parliament. |
